The Personal Diary of Colonel Andrew M. Iverson

I can not adequately describe the sense of pride I felt today as I watched my marines during their exercises. They performed flawlessly. The twenty second and thrity third lost the hill, but not without doing extensive losses to the eleventh, fourteenth and twenty third. Had it been a real fire fight, I shudder to think of the outcome.

It's too bad we'll never get to use our abilities.

Finally something different! Something that's not the same old routine! The Admiral has given me responsibility for a training mission that has the potential to be something most of our other exercises usually aren't - FUN! Evidently he's already had someone hide a small metal cylinder out on the surface of Genesis. We're supposed to pretend it's a nuke and find it before it goes off.

Alright so it's basically hide and seek, but you show me one soldier whose basically not a kid at heart. Of course they'd never admit it. I'm not admitting it.

And let the games begin! I just got my orders from the Admiral. He's pulling out all of the stops for this one. My God(!), he's mobilized every military unit on board Genesis. If there is something on the surface of Genesis we will find it. The Admiral wouldn't tell me what we're looking for, but it must be pretty damn important to commit these kind of resources.

Talk about your cluster fucks. I don't know what the Admiral was thinking about, but the consequences of his actions are... devastating. I don't know what my men found out there, but we should have been warned about it. GNN's bying the hover tank crap. Mean while I'm picking up the pieces of my marines. There's going to be a real shit storm before this is all over.
